How to convert SVG code to PNG

Go from editable vector code to a downloadable image in three steps.

01

Paste or upload your SVG

02

Preview and choose your size

Check the live preview, adjust width and height, and choose a transparent or solid background. Select 1×, 2×, or 4× and check the output dimensions.

03

Download your PNG

PNG is selected by default. Download the image without signing up or spending credits. Your SVG code remains editable in the workspace.

What does SVG code to PNG mean?

SVG describes vector shapes, colors, and text using XML code. This tool renders supported SVG markup into a PNG image with fixed pixel dimensions. The PNG is a raster image; keep the original SVG if you want to edit its vector shapes later.

Why export SVG as PNG?

Use PNG when a document, presentation, or publishing workflow needs a raster image. Export icons, logos, and diagrams at the size you need. Transparent PNGs can sit on different backgrounds without adding a rectangular canvas color.

Control your PNG background and resolution

Keep transparency or add a background

Choose Transparent to leave unpainted pixels transparent, or select white, dark, or a custom color. A background rectangle inside your SVG is part of the artwork: remove or edit that shape if you want transparency there.

Choose pixels, then choose a scale

A 512 × 512 canvas exported at 2× produces a 1024 × 1024 PNG. Preview zoom only changes what you see on screen. Input dimensions are limited to 4096 px per side; PNG output is limited to 8192 px per side and 16,777,216 total pixels.

Check the preview before downloading

Conversion supports a static SVG subset. Scripts, external resources, and unsupported features such as stylesheets, use/symbol references, filters, embedded images, and animation are removed. A warning appears when content is removed. Fonts depend on your device. Input is limited to 256,000 bytes and 1,500 elements.

SVG code to PNG: common questions

Answers about code, transparency, size, and conversion limits.

How do I convert SVG code to PNG?

Paste a complete <svg> element into SVG Code. Check the live preview, choose your output size and background, then click Download with PNG selected.

Can I upload an SVG file instead of pasting code?

Yes. Use Upload SVG to open an .svg file. Its code appears in the editor so you can adjust it before exporting.

How do I export a transparent PNG?

Select Transparent in the background controls and export as PNG. Any background shapes already drawn inside your SVG remain part of the image.

Why does my PNG still have a white background?

Your SVG may contain a white rectangle or another background shape. The Transparent setting does not erase those shapes. Remove or change their fill in the code, then check the preview again.

How do I export a larger PNG?

Increase the canvas width and height, or choose 2× or 4× export scale. The displayed output size shows the final pixel dimensions. Exports above the pixel or side-length limit are rejected.

Is this converter free? Do I need an account?

SVG to PNG conversion is free, requires no account, and uses no AI credits. Conversion runs in your browser without uploading SVG content to a conversion server. AI assistance is a separate feature.

Why does my SVG look different after conversion?

Unsupported or unsafe SVG features are removed before preview and export. Device fonts can also differ. Check the cleanup warning and live preview; the exported PNG uses that processed SVG.

Can this tool convert PNG back to SVG?

No. This page renders SVG code into PNG. Tracing raster images into editable SVG paths is a different process and is not currently supported.
